We at Winchester Youth Counselling recognise the significance of World Health Day on Sunday, 7th April 2024, as a vital occasion to advocate for the well-being of our young community. Health isn’t just about having no illness; It’s about feeling good mentally, not just physically. This year, we want to underline the importance of mental health amongst our youth, a cornerstone for building a resilient, vibrant future.

In the Winchester area, we understand that young people aged 11 to 25 can be challenged by a complex world. Pressures from social media, academic expectations, and the journey of self-discovery can often feel overwhelming. However, it’s crucial to remember that you’re not alone on this journey. Winchester Youth Counselling offers a compassionate, understanding space where you can share your thoughts, worries, hopes and aspirations.

Our services are tailored to support the mental health of young individuals through 1-2-1 counselling, group Nature Therapy, and community activities such as our wellbeing walk-in. We provide a confidential environment where you can express yourself freely and find ways to cope with stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges. Our goal is to empower you to understand your feelings, make positive changes, and develop resilience for the future.

Expanding Our Support

We’re excited to offer Walk and Talk Counselling – a unique blend of physical activity and therapeutic conversation, set in the natural beauty surrounding Winchester. This approach helps break down barriers, making it easier to talk while walking side by side, surrounded by nature.

1-2-1 Counselling provides a more traditional, yet equally supportive, environment to explore personal issues in depth. Our trained counsellors offer a safe and confidential space to discuss anything on your mind, fostering self-discovery and growth.

The group Nature Therapy sessions we offer are for 11 – 16 year olds and are designed to harness the healing power of the outdoors, promoting mental health through a connection with nature. These sessions aim to reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance well-being by engaging with the natural world.
