Our Priorities

Winchester Youth Counselling (WYC) has been a beacon of support for young people in the community for over 20 years. But as the needs of children and young people evolve, so too must the organisation that serves them.

Our Priorities (2)

WYC is committed to putting young people first and providing support that makes a difference.  That’s why they’ve outlined four key priorities for the future:

Priority One: To generate more funds and help more children and young people with quality therapeutic support

WYC knows that quality therapeutic support can change lives. That’s why their first priority is to generate more funds to help more children and young people In Winchester and Hampshire access the services they need. This means exploring new fundraising avenues, building partnerships and raising awareness about the critical role WYC plays in the community.

Priority Two: To respond to the evolving need of children, young people and their families and better evidence our Impact

The landscape of mental health is constantly evolving and WYC is committed to staying at the forefront of change. This means responding to the evolving needs of children, young people and their families. It also means better evidencing our impact through robust data collection and analysis. By understanding what works and what doesn’t, WYC can continuously improve our services and ensure we’re making a tangible difference.

Priority Three: To build on our position as a youth led organisation fighting for positive outcomes in mental health

WYC is proud to be a youth-led charity and we believe that young people have a vital role to play in shaping the future of local mental health and wellbeing support. This means building on our position as advocates and changemakers empowering young people to speak up about their experiences and push for change.

Priority Four: To strengthen our commitment to good governance and transparency, ensuring the highest levels of accountability and public trust.

WYC is committed to operating with the highest levels of accountability and public trust. This means strengthening our commitment to good governance and transparency, ensuring that all stakeholders have a clear understanding of how WYC operates and how our resources are being used.

By focusing on these four key priorities, Winchester Youth Counselling is ensuring that we can continue to provide essential support to children and young people in the community for years to come.

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of young people struggling with mental health challenges.
