Capture the Calm: WYC’s Nature Photo Competition

Nature has an amazing way of helping us slow down, breathe, and feel a little more grounded – and we want to see what that looks like through your eyes.
Winchester Youth Counselling is excited to launch a brand-new photo competition celebrating the connection between being outside and feeling good inside. We know that spending time in nature whether alone or with others, can help improve our mood, lower stress, and offer a much-needed pause from everyday life.
Capture the Calm invites young people, aged 11 – 25, to share their favourite images of nature and mental wellbeing. Whether it’s your favourite place to walk in the great outdoors, a moment or an interaction with an animal that made you smile, or just a great shot of Winchester’s natural beauty – we want to see it!
We can’t wait to see what you see!
There’s a prize voucher up for grabs for the overall winner, and selected entries will be featured in our 2026 WYC calendar. The calendar will also include wellbeing tips from our Youth Board and local mental health professionals, helping us all make space for reflection and care throughout the year.
So: take a walk. Take a breath. Take a picture.
Show us how nature helps you reset – it’s your world, snap it your way.
