Anti-Bullying Week 2024: Choosing Respect Together
Today marks the beginning of Anti-Bullying week and we here, at Winchester Youth Counselling, are eager to support this year’s theme: ‘Choose Respect’. This initiative, coordinated by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, encourages everyone to actively choose respect in all interactions, encouraging a culture where kindness and understanding prevail over bullying.
Bullying remains a significant issue, affecting countless young people across the UK. It manifests in various forms—physical, verbal, and increasingly, online. The repercussions can be profound, leading to anxiety, depression, and diminished self-esteem. By choosing respect, we can collectively combat these negative impacts and create safer environments for all.
At Winchester Youth Counselling, we are dedicated to supporting young individuals aged 11 to 25 within the Winchester district. Our services are free and confidential, offering a safe space to discuss any challenges you may be facing, including issues related to bullying. Our team of qualified counsellors provide 1-2-1 sessions, Walk and Talk counselling and Nature therapy additionally we offer parent/carer support.
In alignment with the ‘Choose Respect’ theme, we encourage everyone to reflect on their daily interactions. Respecting others’ differences, listening actively, and showing empathy are simple yet powerful actions that can significantly reduce bullying.
